What the Work Taught Me
I created New Anthem Solutions because I've lived the tension between bold visions and the unsung work required to bring them to life. Too often, people are told to either “push through” or “think big” without the clarity, support, or conditions to do either well.
It doesn't have to be this way. I believe people can do extraordinary work when leadership is collaborative, resilient, empathetic, disciplined, and strategic. That's the kind of leadership I care about—and the kind I help people practice.
I know this personally. For years I tried to be the perfect executive, partner, and parent until the way I was working stopped making sense. What I found on the other side wasn't balance. It was alignment. That experience is what took me from city-builder to advisor and coach, and it's what I bring into every engagement.
Whether I'm working with a leader or an organization, I'm always looking for the same thing: clarity about what matters, choices that support it, and the conditions to make the work last.
Over the long haul, I want to help build a new wave of civic leadership: people still committed to making a difference, and ready to change the rules of how we do it.
My Philosophy
The Rule Nobody Wrote Down
Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to measure ambition by how much we're willing to give it. Stay busy. Keep producing. Keep pushing. Take on more.
It makes sense. We want the work to count, and that approach can accomplish a lot. I know. I spent a good part of my career operating that way.
But eventually I started questioning the equation itself.
What If More Isn't More?
The problem with always pushing for more is that eventually it can start crowding out the very things that help us do the work well.
So I'm not interested in telling people to want less, care less, or stop being ambitious. I'm interested in expanding what ambition can look like.
That might mean pursuing the bigger role. It might mean deciding you've gone far enough. It might mean growing something. It might mean getting better at what already exists. It might mean working incredibly hard at something you care about and knowing when enough is enough.
A Different Definition of Success
I don't think there's one better definition to replace the old one.
I think the work is questioning the definitions we've absorbed, deciding what we actually want to be aiming for, and building our work and leadership around that.
Because making room for thinking, connecting, experimenting, and recovering isn't stepping away from ambition. Those things are often what make better work possible.
I don't believe we have to sacrifice impact.
I think we can have more of it.

With two decades of executive experience across urban planning, real estate, economic development, and social impact strategy, I've led large, complex initiatives that turned bold ideas into aligned strategy, coordinated action, and measurable results.
My work has shaped generational city-building projects, strengthened cross-sector partnerships, and catalyzed more than $1.4 billion in public and private investment, resulting in new and revitalized parks, transportation facilities, civic spaces, and entire neighborhoods. I've built high-performing teams, crafted shared strategic priorities, and helped organizations move through moments of initiation, growth, transition, and transformative change.
Across every role, one truth has held: strategy only works when people are aligned and able to lead it. And today's organizations know this—trading static plans and program-heavy strategy for human-centered, adaptive strategy grounded in thoughtful leadership.
