When success stops feeling like success

I built Purposefully Led for women because I keep seeing the same thing: incredibly capable women doing impactful work, always pushing toward the next goalpost. Their days belong to everyone else: the board, the client, the community, the team. And the people they love get the tired version of them.

And then they look up and realize:

Wait, I made it?
Why doesn’t it feel the way I thought it would?

At that point, it stops being about whether you can keep doing it. It becomes about whether you want to, and what you want instead.

And you keep circling the possibilities: a new role, a different industry, a different career entirely, or staying in the job you worked so hard for, and changing the terms.

But you're not close to an answer.

Something has to change. But you don’t know what that is yet.

Purposefully Led gives you a place to figure it out through one-on-one and small-group coaching, alongside women who understand your world.

And maybe six months from now, you make a choice you would have agonized over before and move on.

Instead of burning energy replaying it on a loop and second-guessing yourself, you get to use that energy for the parts of your work and life that matter most.

Pull up a chair

If we were having coffee, I’d probably be talking too fast because there’s so much I want to share about Purposefully Led—why I built it, what I’ve learned, and what I think becomes possible when you start questioning some of the rules you’ve been living by.

So I made this 18-minute podcast. You’ll hear more about the program, but I also wanted to give you a few things you can try on your own right away.

THE PROGRAM

Here's how we'll do this together

01.
Start one-on-one

In the first month, we start one-on-one and look at what has shaped the way you lead: the strengths you’ve built, the shoulds that might be holding you back, what matters most to you, and the coulds you keep circling but haven't dared to fully try on yet.

02.
Build your leadership compass

Using what you’ve learned about what gives you energy, what you want more of, and what you’re ready to put down, we create a first draft of your Compass: your version of ambition, success, and fulfillment, on your terms.

03.
Practice and refine with the group

Over the six months, meet virtually with a small group of women who understand the terrain, bring different perspectives, and can spark new ideas through their own stories. Bring the real situations you’re navigating now, try something, see what happens, and keep refining your Compass along the way.

You’ll also have private access to me between sessions for the questions, situations, or things you’d rather work through one-on-one than bring to the group.

THE GROUP

Shared Terrain. Fresh Perspective.

Purposefully Led brings together four to six women working across the built environment and civic life.

You won’t all have the same job or be making the same decisions. But you’ll understand enough about each other’s worlds that you don’t have to spend half the conversation explaining why the work is complicated.

You’ll be around women who understand enough of your world to get it, but who bring different experiences, instincts, and ways of seeing things.

And sometimes, hearing how someone else is thinking about her own situation is exactly what helps you see yours differently.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

Purposefully Led is a new program, but the coaching behind it isn’t.

Working one-on-one with Natalie helped me shift from proving myself to leading with clarity and confidence. She guided me through a challenging period in my career and helped me build practical tools that changed how I show up every day—leading with purpose, empowering others, and creating space for collaboration and creativity. The growth I experienced has been both immediate and lasting.

Jill A.

Communications director

Natalie gets to the root of your ‘why’ and carves a path to fulfillment that's not only tied to your business objectives but aligns with what you value most. Her ability to create both a safe space and structure fosters a sense of momentum and possibility. If you're feeling like you or your team are ready for your next chapter or have been striving for something and simply cannot break through, sign up. It's powerful stuff.

Stacey M.

Development executive

Natalie made me feel seen and gave me the push I needed to think more expansively about what's possible for me. Since our session, I've felt a clarity and confidence that was missing before.

ABOUT NATALIE

I know what our profession can ask of you.

I know what it’s like to build a career you’re proud of and start wondering what you want from it now. I spent more than 20 years leading major, complex initiatives to shape places and communities in ways that mattered to people.

I cared deeply about the work. But so much of my ambition had become about what the work, the mission, and everyone around me needed that I stopped asking what I wanted it to be in service of.

At the same time, I was raising a family and trying to make room for everything else that mattered to me too.

Eventually, I had to ask myself a question:

What do I want my ambition to be in service of now?

New Anthem was my answer.

Purposefully Led brings together two parts of my work I really love: helping women work through these kinds of questions and bringing together people whose different experiences and perspectives can spark something new.

FAQs

A few things you might be wondering

Do I need to know what I want before I join?

No. That’s kind of the point. You may know something needs to change without knowing exactly what that change is yet.

Is Purposefully Led only for women thinking about leaving their jobs or changing careers?

No. Some women may make a big change. Others may stay where they are and change how they lead, what they take on, or where they put their energy.

What happens after I say I’m interested?

I’ll reach out personally so we can talk about what you’re looking for, I can answer your questions, and we can see whether Purposefully Led feels like the right fit.

How do you decide who’s in the cohort?

I talk with each woman before enrollment and am intentional about the mix of the group. I’m looking for enough shared context that you’ll understand one another, along with different experiences and perspectives that can make the conversations richer.

If I think Purposefully Led is a fit but this particular cohort isn’t the right match, I may suggest a future cohort or another way of working together.

What if I want more one-on-one support?

You can add individual coaching to Purposefully Led if you want more space to work through your specific situation outside of the group. We can talk about whether that would be useful for you during enrollment.

Can my organization pay for Purposefully Led?

Yes. Some participants may be able to use professional development, leadership development, or coaching funds through their organization.

READY?

If this feels like it might be for you, I'd love to talk.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before you reach out. Tell me a little about what’s going on, ask me whatever you want to know, and we’ll see if Purposefully Led feels like the right fit.
